The Center for the Creative Occupation for Children "Fantasia" was founded in 1997 in the framework of the EU program "NOW" in cooperation with the Hellenic Company for Local Development (E.E.T.A.A) and with the support of the Municipality.  

The center "Fantasia" is located in the center of Agrinio (Botsari str. 4, next to the Municipal Movies Theater "Ellinis", tel. 26410-32134). The center is a 200 sq.meters space run by two experienced Kindergarten teachers specialized the creative occupation of children between 5-12 years of age. The personnel of the center also includes an actor, a musician, a painter and a sculptor. 

The main goal of the center is to ensure parents that their children will spend their free time creatively. The center receives more than 400 children per year between the ages of 5-12 and offers afternoon classes on weekdays and morning classes on Saturdays, such as: 

• Chess
• Traditional Dances
• Music-kinetic games
• Theater team for children 5-8 years old
• Theater team for children 8-12 years old
• Theater team for teenagers

The center "Fantasia" also organizes special events for all the children of the Municipality, such as feasts during national and religious holidays (Christmas, carnival, ect), book exhibitions, museum visits, and other educational trips.

It is worth noting that for 5 continuous years the first children's journalism team that published the annual newspaper "The News of Fantasia" was created in the center.

Here, in the center, we strongly believe and encourage children's creativity and imagination as a crucial element in social development. Because, as Albert Einstein phrased it:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge, because knowledge is limited while imagination is unlimited".
