As the Mayor of the city, I invite you to explore our webpage, in order to receive useful information on the city of Agrinio and the services offered by our municipality. We undertake the administration and management of the Municipality of Agrinio, with a sense of responsibility towards the citizens. Nowadays, Agrinio is a modern and dynamic city, a model of development in western Greece with concrete goals and visions. Our main goal is to make Agrinio the third Development Pole in western Greece and we have a well-designed program to succeed. The construction of the Western Axis and its connection to the large Commercial-Industrial port of Makrugialos and to the International Airport of Aktios will make Agrinio the protagonist in Western Greece. Agrinio is ready to take over this role. Furthermore, with the General Urban Plan we create the prerequisites for the proper development of multi-center modern city.

Agrinio is the center of a large hinterland from "Xiromero" and mountainous "Valtos" until "Makruneia" and from mountainous "Trichonida" until "Platugiali". It is an area that gathers the 2/3 of the total population of the Municipality. It features biotopes protected by International Conventions, with rivers, lakes and high mountains. Agrinio also features a rich cultural heritage and important religious monuments.
