The Traditional Dances Class was founded in 1977. Its aim is to preserve the local dance and song traditions as an important cultural heritage for the next generations. It has also organized several seminars, speeches, and has made great efforts to record local traditions. Every year, during the last week of august, the class organizes a grand international traditional dances festival with the participation of many national and international groups. It also features a collection of 100 original traditional costumes. The dance group of the class participates every year in numerous national and international dance and folklore festivals and it is always accompanied by a music band with traditional instruments.
